Run by English Heritage, the visitor centre is full of fascinating information where you can learn more about the Saxon King Harold.
For a relaxing day out, there are plenty of beautiful country houses and stately homes to choose from. Wakehurst Place has a spectacular garden maintained by the Royal Botanic Gardens, and Sheffield Park Garden features a wonderful garden designed by the famous Capability Brown.
