The beautiful county of Kent is known as the garden of England. Full of iconic sights, including the White Cliffs of Dover, Canterbury Cathedral, and Leeds Castle, Kent makes a wonderful holiday destination, whether you want a relaxing weekend break, or a family fortnight.
Kent’s historic past is never too far away. Magnificent Dover Castle and the Tudor fortresses of Walmer and Deal were important parts of the coastal defences built to keep invaders out over the centuries.

If you like photography, a great place to visit is Dungeness with its large expanse of shingle and abandoned boats it is a magnet for artists and Photographers. The narrow gauge Romney Hythe & Dymchurch Railway runs from the Cinque port of Hythe to Dungeness. The eleven steam locomotives and two diesel engines take children to school and tourists across the sea of shingle.
In the past whole families would travel to Kent from London to work in the hop fields. Many families returning year after year treating their time in the hop fields as a holiday.
Kent has many historic attractions and a fascinating heritage. Many books could be written about this beautiful and historic county. I will let the pictures tell the story.
