The church of Saint Augustine
Brookland church is one of the most interesting churches in Romney Marsh and is dedicated to St Augustine, the first Archbishop of Canterbury.
The outstanding feature is the Belfry which stands apart from the church. The wooden belfry is octagonal in shape, and when the timber was examined in the 1960s it was found to date from the 13th century.
The circular lead font which dates from the 1100s is according to the guide book one of the most important of the thirty leaden fonts remaining in the country.
