Swanage, a coastal town in Dorset, is popular with visitors who are attracted to the beach and the many other local attractions.
In the oldest part of the town is St Mary’s Church and the picturesque Mill Pond which is always popular with tourists. Another popular local attraction is the Great Globe at nearby Durlston, this Victorian Globe which is made of Portland stone weighs 40 tons and is 10ft in diameter. Around the Globe are a number of old London bollards, these recycled bollards made their journey to Swanage on boats that had delivered locally quarried stone to London.
