Clovelly is perhaps one of the most well known villages on Devon’s north coast. This pretty village which is still privately owed is a popular tourist attraction.
The cobbled main street, known as ‘Up-Along’ and ‘Down-Along’, slopes steeply down to the harbour, past delightful cottages, shops and an Inn. The narrow main street is free of traffic, and goods that were traditionally transported by donkeys are now delivered using sledges.
Tourists are charged an admission fee to enter the village; the fee includes parking and entrance to the Kingsley museum etc.
